2013 Chardonnay
Named after a region in eastern France, and a genetic daughter to Pinot Noir; Chardonnay is a cross of Pinot Noir and a grape variety called Gouais Blanc. Known as the most widely distributed white wine in the world, Chardonnay is a high-yield, easy to grow, early budding, high-sugar varietal that has the adaptability to grow in a wide range of climates and soils. This often unbalanced this varietal at many times showcases, hints of butter, high acidity, high alcohol, or oak in abundance balanced together well in this ’13 vintage with crisp acidic fruit front transitioning into a floral dryness over a light lingering finish. It gives notes of pear, ginger, and a light 20% new oak finish, accomplished along with consistent lees stirring. Served between 50 and 58 degrees ferinhight and this wine opens up with ripe pears, pineapple, and citrus blossoms on the nose, this Chardonnay will pair nicely with; turkey, pork cutlet, pumpkin, squash, mushrooms, brie cheeses and your favorite sea food dish.

2019 Dry Gewürztraminer
Designated as a ‘Noble’ grape in Alsace; Gewürztraminer is known for having the deepest skin color for a white wine grape. Ranging from pink to red, the skin color is a dead giveaway and easy to recognize. The darker skin can contribute to the mid-gold to an almost peachy glow that resembles copper. Although this variety is the 4th most planted white grape in Oregon; it does come with its challenges. The vines develop their leaves early which make them susceptible to spring frost. Ripening early-mid season and often harvested before Riesling, Gewürztraminer needs sufficient warmth to promote good flowering and larger production. You will never be wrong if you say you smell Lychee on the nose when it comes to any Gewürztraminer. This low tannin, flirtatiously Lychee, lightly tropical varietal has notes of; pineapple, rose petals, mango, pear skins and herbal passion fruit. Think softer cheeses including Munster, Brie or a nice herbal Chevre. Pairing spicy Thai, Middle Eastern or Moroccan dishes will bring out an almost honey profile on the palate. A Thai crab with curry, Korean BBQ chicken, any shellfish, sushi or vibrant vegetables such as bell peppers and tomatoes will compliment this dry Gewürztraminer.

2021 Gruner Veltliner
The Grüner Veltliner varietal is typically a dry white that is almost grown exclusively in Austria’s Wachau providence. A little more than 1/3 of all the vines in Austria are Grüner Veltliner, and they typically present a high acidity and huge fruit profile due to Austria’s higher elevations. Our Grüner Veltliner has hint of sweetness with iris blossoms, honey, and lemon peel on the nose; along with stone fruit, guava, and peach that bring a vein of acidity that explodes in your mouth like pop rocks; and then settles down with a slight creamy finish. When it comes to pairing think spice; Grüner Veltliner is a perfect palate cleanser for richly flavored foods (ginger, shallots, all spice, curry, asparagus, mushrooms, artichoke and capers) and pairs nicely with the traditional Austrian Weiner Schnitzel (a veal cutlet that is coated in egg and then crusted and fried in butter or oil). The acidity and fruit tones in this wine match every bite of the creamy, rich meat. Look for soft, rich and creamy cheeses, such as a Camembert, or fresh cheeses like a Ricotta, Paneer or even a beautiful, crumbly Bleu cheese.

2018 Himrod
Himrod is a hybrid grape developed in 1952 by Cornell University and derived from a cross of Ontario and Thompson seedless. Usually a table grape, its unusual characteristics produce flavors of pineapple, citrus, and honey, and a slight "foxy", ripe banana, aroma and flavor of the Concord variety, also in its parentage.

2013 Melon de Bourgogne
The Melon de Bourgogne varietal originates in France and translates to “Melon of Burgundy”, or simply Melon. The Melon grape is responsible for the French wine Muscadet. This is one of Chateau Lorane’s more rare and unusual white varietals, and is grown by Golden Leaf Farm, near Roseburg. This refreshing, well-balanced wine displays hints of citrus, honeysuckle, and honeydew melon flavors. This wine is dry and crisp with mineral characters – perfect chilled on a hot summer day. Pair with a seafood salad or oysters with some herbed cheese and summer vegetables. Melon de Bourgogne fun fact: Melon de Bourgogne was brought to America in 1939 by Georges de Latour. For many years the wines were labeled, incorrectly as Pinot Blanc, which is an entirely different wine grape.

2013 Rousanne
Rousanne is one of the four main grapes from the Rhone Valley of France. It can be difficult to grow, but is thought to be worth the trouble because of its deep flavors and notes. This wine is currently hiding its fruit behind a curtain of acidic floral characteristics masked with a nutty perfume. This Roussanne started in the bottle as a fruity pear front wine and is known to mature into a complex smooth white over cellaring for 10 or more years. This balanced Rousanne is particularly good with spicy foods or heavy cream dishes. This Rhone region varietal is typically a grape grown in hot climates and the grapes sourced from Talent, Oregon in 2013 were particularly good for this style.

2014 Sauvignon Blanc
This popular, unmistakable, white varietal is very different than other whites due to its sky high acidity. Sauvignon Blanc became a parent to Cabernet Sauvignon after a natural crossing with Cabernet Franc in the 18th century. Both the Sauvignon Blanc and its offspring Cabernet Sauvignon are the most widely planted grapes in the world due to the wide range of styles and flavors that both possess. With layers of white peach and a floral morning meadow on the nose, our Sauvignon Blanc exhibits bouquets of herbaceous gooseberry, green apple, Asian pear, guava with a medium acidic nectarine finish. Pared with your favorite herb driven sauces, chicken, lobster, crab, or sautéed veggies like grilled asparagus with a hollandaise sauce, feta cheese, aged goat cheese or any spicy Thai or Vietnamese dishes, this wine will blossom.
